Authentication using OpenID and Spring Security

I'm trying to integrate openid authentication with my web application using Spring Security. It isn't being straightforward because I'm also in the process of learning the SpringFramework and Apache Tapestry. Depending on the dedication I'm able to put into his matter it will take a lesser or a longer time. I'll post my evolution here on this blog. In the meantime I just found out that a OpenID sample application can be downloaded from SpringFramework at Apache Maven's repository.

Another proof that our concerns about...

Another proof that our concerns about Google Buzz privacy issues where right is the new updates they've made to it. Fortunately for us GOOG is really interested in Buzz's acceptance so they're being very quick in taking our feedback. The latest Official GMail Blog post GOOG talks about "A new Buzz start-up experience based on your feedback" where the major issue raised, which is Followers Publication, is addressed. On this upgraded version there's a new tab in the GMail settings where you can manage Buzz's settings. Auto following is also reviewed. It is now a manual process where you choose exactly who you want to follow. GOOG also states that in the next couple weeks they'll be showing a similar version of this new start-up experience to the people who have already started Buzz to give them a second chance to review and confirm the people they're following.
But for me Buzz is still interfering more than it should on my GOOG experience. From Buzz's settings tab in GMail I don't like the idea that if I don't want Buzz, to delete it I also have to delete my GOOG profile. I hope they separate these two options in the future because I had a GOOG profile long before Buzz appeared.

Google Buzz Privacy Issue follow-up

It seems that Google has acknowledged this privacy problem and in their latest GMail blog post they announce a small change on the Buzz profile set-up in which aims to make "...this option more prominent in the set up process, to ensure everyone who wanted to hide these lists can do so easily." Google Buzz PRIVACY WARNING

Google Buzz may be an awesome tool but it has a very important privacy issue. Your followers information is publicly available, by default, in your Google profile, to everyone who visits your profile page. Follow links are also available so anyone can expand it's Buzz network in an easy way. This means that it's possible, and easy, for anyone to harvest YOUR PERSONAL contacts lists and of other people! By default everyone has access to everyone's follow list. Hiding the list of followers from your profile page is possible by editing your profile and uncheck the box next to "Display the list of people I'm following and people following me". Moreover the people you follow here in Buzz is the same you'll follow in Google Reader and vice versa. (Edit Profile URL: http://ping.fm/PBTyW)
