This is an interesting matter for me. I never did understand why Maximo doesn't use the Application Servers connection pools with all the benefits it brings such as connection management, clustering, etc and insists on using their own database connection management. Unfortunately this technote doesn't explain the choice of keeping Maximo's own database connection management.

Data elements can be hidden in a condition. For example, an attribute may not be applicable for a certain type of record no matter what group a user is in.
